Find an endless lake

Find an endless lake

Hello there,

There's a new place to wander on the internet, and I don’t have a map for it.

All summer, a wave of creative energy drove me to gather what happened on the pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash into a small site. Not a blog, not a launch. It’s more like a set of rooms in my head that you can walk into in whatever order you like.

If you remember the internet before it was optimised to influence you to scroll one particular way, you'll recognise what I'm trying to recreate. A sparse page with strange moving phrases, and photos placed randomly in different spots. Feel free to click on any phrase(s) that intrigue you, not because an algorithm decides that you should. Nothing is written chronologically; if you get lost, so be it. With that in mind, I invite you to explore the site on a desktop or a laptop. Not your phone.

Some of it is Mt. Kailash. Some of it is a dream I had in 2022 that took years to make sense of. Some of it is a little more ordinary: a lost earring, a conversation on the bus about money and meaning.

Explore the site the way a child wanders into a garden: no agenda and no finish line! Autumn Equinox, followed closely by the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, is a time to celebrate the year’s harvest and to gather for reflection. So it feels incredibly special to finish this site now and share it with you.

If a piece lands somewhere in you, I'd love to know which one, and why. And if it reminds you of someone, send it their way. That's how these things used to travel, person to person, before we handed this control to machines.

The door is here: the endless lake →

Wishing you a beautiful gathering in all forms and ways in the coming week, with loved ones beside you, and those who live on in your thoughts.
